In college, in order for
a student to succeed to the best of their ability, and to not become stressed
out, they would have to have regular and effective sleep-study schedule. There
has been said that “studies suggest that the quantity and quality of sleep have
a profound impact on learning and memory” (Sleep, Learning, and Memory). Once you begin to have a consistent sleep
schedule, anxiety decreases because a student would be able to have more focus
for a topic in class. Statistics show that “First, a sleep-deprived person
cannot focus attention optimally and therefore cannot learn efficiently.
Second, sleep itself has a role in the consolidation of memory, which is
essential for learning new information” (Sleep, Learning, and Memory)
and in order to successfully understand a topic in a class, a student should be
more aware in class. A sleep-study schedule would help in college because once
a student is aware of the specific time that they have to study and to sleep,
it would be easier to plan events around the time and to have social time with
friends. Having a healthy mindset in college with little distractions could
help increase the chances passing and decreases the chances of a student
becoming agitated in class because of lack of sleep.
